Being a woman just got a little easier (and less expensive!)
Starting August 1, being a woman just got easier (and less expensive!). Thanks to Obamacare, most health insurance plans will now be required to cover birth control and other women's preventive services like mammograms, pap smears and well-woman yearly exams with no co-pay. This new provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expands access to 47 million American women to receive preventive services at no additional cost. Let others know. Share this infographic and spread some health: http://action.seiu.org/august1 The preventive health services included in new plans are: well-woman visits, breastfeeding assistance and supplies, domestic violence counseling, screening for gestational diabetes, testing for high-risk strains of HPV, screening for sexually transmitted infections including HIV, and all FDA-approved methods of contraception. Thanks to the healthcare law, no woman will be denied access to birth control because of where she works. And with studies showing that over 50% of women have skipped or delayed preventive care due to costs, these benefits are a significant step forward for women's health. Spread the news on Facebook and email to make sure your friends and family know they can start taking advantage of these new benefits. http://action.seiu.org/august1
