Support Stronger Standards

Whether you are a food service worker, a janitor or a laundry worker, our hard work helps our country's businesses, schools, stadiums, convention centers and public buildings function.

SWU fights to eradicate poverty wages and unjust treatment by organizing workers and fighting to create good jobs with healthcare so that workers and their families can have a brighter future:

  • While school meals are among the country’s strongest anti-hunger programs, many K-12 school food service workers don’t have access to affordable health insurance or paid sick days, forcing them to choose between going to work while sick or losing a day’s pay for their families.
  • Hospital food service workers need to have the ability to create better meals for people on special or restricted diets.
  • When janitors receive proper training, they can learn how to use products and techniques that reduce exposure to harsh chemicals and how to better identify water leaks and mold growth.

It’s time that we begin to raise these standards, for the sake of all of our community members. Support stronger standards by signing the form to the right. →
