• In our current health care system women pay up to 48% more in premiums than men.
• Many insurance companies don't provide maternity coverage. Period.
• Many insurers consider pregnancy and c-section births to be a "pre-existing conditions," barring millions of women from receiving affordable health coverage. In some states, insurers can even classify domestic abuse as a "pre-existing condition."
• Women in America deserve equal coverage for equal premiums. It's time for Congress to pass health insurance reform and end insurance company discrimination against women.
