Dear Mr. Clark,

I have recently been contacted by Mr. Jorge-Alonso Chehade-Zegarra concerning his immigration case. I understand that he is scheduled for voluntary departure on September 25, 2009.  I also understand that Jorge-Alonso was brought to the United States in 2001 when he entered on a non-immigrant visa.

He is a graduate of the Foster G. School of Business at University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. As you can see from his experiences, Jorge-Alonso has been an active and productive member of his community during his time here in the United States. He has demonstrated strength in character, as he has no criminal record, and has the support of his friends, neighbors, and community.

As a result, he is respectfully requesting a minimum one-year deferral from his order of voluntary departure. I ask that you please give his request all consideration within your authority.

Please direct your response to Stephen Yim in my Seattle District Office at Jackson Federal Building, 915 2nd Avenue, 3206 Seattle, Washington, 98174. Stephen Yim can be reached via:

phone: 206-220-6400, fax: 206-220-6404, or email:   stephen_yim@cantwell.senate.gov.

If I can provide any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely ,

Maria Cantwell
