When word got out that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) proposed rules to reform pre-and post-election union representation procedures, a lot of us took a deep breath and sighed:
"Well, it is about time..."
So many of us who've been part of a union organizing drive know the fierce (and frequently) illegal tactics the employers take. We know about the bullying, the pitting of worker against worker, the intimidation of one-on-ones, and the random firing of workers, to name just a few.
Now we need to tell our stories. When we signed the petition we made it clear that we are in support of the NLRB rule change, but now we have a good shot at telling them why ... from OUR perspective, from our real life experiences.
