At the national level, consumer activity represents 70% of the American economy. Here in Maine, it represents the difference between survival and failure for the small businesses that keep our state running.  Moreover, the skyrocketing cost of health care is crippling small businesses. Our health care premiums are almost 20% higher than those paid by large businesses. Many small Maine businesses struggle to afford health care for themselves or their employees.

The Maine Change that Works Small Business Forum promotes Maine's small businesses which support affordable health care. We believe that healthy families translate into a stronger local economy and community and that’s good for businesses. At Change that Works, we know the importance of quality, affordable health care for every member of the community--especially for those who own small businesses.
