Union Freedom Ride
(Rally)
Join us as we take the cause for good jobs and workers' rights on the road!
The Freedom Ride is an excellent opportunity for workers and activists from all over the state to show their support for the Employee Free Choice Act by doing what they love to do already: ride through the beautiful Nebraska landscape on a nice spring day.
We'll be travelling all over the state to raise awareness on this important issue, including stops at the in-state offices of Sens. Nelson and Johanns. Hop on your motorcycle (or jump in your car) and show your support for workers!
Download a flyer with the full schedule and addresses of each location that you can print and post on bulletin boards!
Download a poster with the full schedule that you can post on sites like facebook and other websites!
The Freedom Ride kicks off with registration at the UFCW hall in Grand Island on Sunday, May 31 from 9 until 10 in the morning.
From there we'll head to a press event at Sen. Nelson's office in Lincoln at 11:45 am...and then we're headed north to lunch at the UFCW Hall in Fremont (2410 N. Colorado St.)
At 2:15 we'll depart for Omaha, and an event outside Sen. Johanns' office takes place at 3:15 pm
We will end the day, from 4-6pm, with food and friends at Clancy’s West in Omaha (777 N. 114th St)
More Info:
- Riders can join at registration stops in Grand Island, Fremont or Lincoln. Riders from Omaha are encouraged to join us at Fremont. Maps will given at all registration locations.
- There is a $10 entry fee; the money will be donated to food pantries in the towns we ride through and the fee includes a free t-shirt for riders. You do NOT have to pre-pay or pre-register, you will register on the day of the ride.

- Non-riders are welcome along the way. Even folks in cars can join the ride!
