The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease will hold the next briefing in its "Health Care University" series, "Creating a Health Care System that Works for All Americans: Fighting Chronic Diseases and Tackling Health Disparities."
This event will target Hill staff, media and other interested parties. It will serve as an educational briefing on how chronic diseases are disproportionately impacting specific populations and where health disparities fit into the larger health care reform discussion.
Speakers Include:
*Dr. Warren A. Jones, Executive Director of the Mississippi Institute for the Improvement of Geographical Minority Health Disparities at the University of Mississippi Medical Center

*National Minority Quality Forum
* Health care disparities (ethnic, racial and socioeconomic)in our current health care system, and the impact these disparities have on the overall picture of health in this country
* The staggering impact of chronic diseases within vulnerable populations
* Room for improvement: What Congress can do to address the issue of health disparities as they consider health care reform
